Ski graphics recently have really embraced the “steezy” side of the sport. These busy graphics can be described as a cross between a Hunter S. Thompson acid trip and a Quentin Terrantino movie. A friend of mine recently acquired a pair of Nordica Patron skis. He got them mounted and took them out the next day. He got to the top of the gondola and looked down at his feet…and immediately exploded with profanities.
When his feet where side by side, his left ski was a few inches shorter than his right ski. The reason for this being that one of his toe pieces had been mounted where his heel piece should have been, in other words, one ski was mounted properly, the other ski was mounted backwards. He made a joke about skiing half switch, and took off. I was unable to capture a picture of this moment, as we were all taken by surprise. When he brought the skis back to the ski shop that had mounted them, all they could say was, “Sorry man, the graphics were so busy, I guess I just got confused…”
Personally, I like the simpler ski graphics, and find the simple to be more stylish and apparently easier to mount properly. I’ve included some pictures below comparing the acid tripping Nordica Patron, with the simple sleek style of the DPS Wailer.
